John Skerritt

Professor John Skerritt AM is Enterprise Professor in Health Research Impact at the University of Melbourne (supporting academics in commercialisation of innovations) and also is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney. He was Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care until April 2023 and also head of the Therapeutic Goods Administration for 11 years). Professor Skerritt was part of the leadership of Australia’s COVID-19 response.

John is a member of the boards of Medicines Australia and of AusBiotech, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Centre for Innovation in Regulatory Science and a member of the board of the Centre for Regulatory Excellence at the National University of Singapore. He also advised the Australian Government on establishment of a mRNA vaccines and medicines industry. John is author of over 300 publications in many fields and has commercialised over a dozen products internationally.
