Five presentations selected to speak in the Early Career Investigator Session at the APIC 2025 meeting will be awarded the Ian Frazer Centre Travel Scholarships. The best presentation will be awarded for the Ian Frazer Centre Early Career Investigator Award.
Eligibility:
Clinical Trainees/Doctors - Candidates with a medical degree are eligible if they meet either of the following criteria:
You have completed your most recent research degree (e.g., Master’s, PhD, or equivalent) within the past 5 years (on or after May 23, 2020).
You are within 10 years of graduating from medical school (if no additional research degree has been obtained) (on or after May 23, 2015).
PhD Students - Eligible to apply
Postdoctoral Researchers - Research fellows with no more than 5 years post-PhD are eligible (PhD completed on or after May 23, 2020).
Eligibility is calculated as of the conference start date, May 23rd 2025. The eligibility timeframe may be extended commensurate with any period of career disruption, please include details in CV if this is applicable.
To be eligible for the travel award, applicants must not reside in Brisbane. However, all applicants, regardless of their place of residence, are eligible to be selected for the early career investigator session and for the Ian Frazer Centre award for the best presentation. Brisbane residents who are selected for an oral presentation in the early career investigator session will be awarded complementary conference registration.
All applicants must register, submit an abstract, and attend the APIC 2025 meeting to be eligible for an award.

Application Procedure:
The following documents must be submitted as part of the application:
Abstract – Maximum 400 words not including title, authoring or cited references
A C.V. (not more than 3 pages) that outlines your research and employment history, up to five key publications and other achievements (noting career disruptions where relevant) must be included as part of the application.
A letter of support from your supervisor.
Submit your abstract, C.V. and letter of support via the conference web site before the closing date for abstract submission.
The APIC organising committee will short-list applicants’ abstracts for the New Investigator session.

Excellence and originality of scientific content
The potential impact of the research on children’s immunotherapy
Clarity and organisation of the oral and audiovisual presentation

Ian Frazer Centre Early Career Investigator Award: AUD $2,000
Ian Frazer Centre Travel Scholarships: Up to AUD $500 to cover travel expenses to attend the conference
Ian Frazer Centre Best Poster: AUD $250
