Jinmiao Chen

Jinmiao Chen is a Senior Principal Investigator at the A*STAR Bioinformatics Institute (A*STAR BII). Her research lab specialises in AI-powered single-cell and spatial omics analysis for precision medicine, with a particular focus on developing AI algorithms and omics databases. Recognised as a Highly Cited Researcher from 2020 to 2024, EMBO Global Investigator in 2023 and World’s Top 2% Scientist in 2024, Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Sun Yat-sen University, China, and a PhD degree in AI and Computational Biology from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Following her PhD, she joined A*STAR as a postdoctoral researcher before establishing her own research lab.
